Hey there! I’m Courtney.
Wife, mama to 3, and the visually impaired artist behind not by sight art.
As a self taught hobbyist turned professional watercolor artist, it is a joy to come alongside you as you learn how to express yourself creatively as an act of worship and as an image bearer of the Master Creator (Genesis 1). My goal is to teach you how to paint from a place of reflection and contemplation with an aim to meditate on scripture and connect with our God—not perfection.
Whether you’re a total beginner or you just want to breathe some fresh air into your creative practice, I’m confident that you will learn and be encouraged to grow in Create By Faith.

What can I expect with Create By Faith?
Gentle Watercolor Lessons
Each month you’ll receive bite sized video lessons designed to teach you watercolor techniques, help you deepen your understanding of watercolors, and—most of all—perpetuate the joy of picking up a paintbrush.
These lessons are designed with beginners in mind but will provide tips and tricks for watercolorists of any level.
Biblically Rooted Projects
Each month you will also gain access to a video lesson that walks you through a completed watercolor piece from start to finish.
These projects are created with different passages of scripture in mind and aim to help you put your new techniques into practice while keeping God’s Word as your focus and inspiration.
Encouragement from Scripture
Each month will also include a brief lesson of encouragement from the passage of scripture that inspired your art piece.
You’ll hear from courtney, the artist behind not by sight, as well as special guests as You continue to grow in your love for painting as an act of worship.
Monthly Live Painting Sessions
Once a month, courtney will host a live painting session, so you can learn in real time. She will also be answering your questions, helping you troubleshoot, offering feedback, and connecting with you over all things art, watercolors, and walking with Jesus. Grab your paints and join us! (All sessions are recorded for those unable to attend live).
A Private Community for Create By Faith Members
Ask questions, receive encouraging feedback on your work, and make friends with like minded women from across the world in our members only community.
NEW! starting May 2023 members will be invited to join casual painting sessions twice a month. This unrecorded time on Zoom will be the perfect place to build relationships, dive into deeper discussions with current CBF members, and paint whatever you like along the way.
